President of Iran Condemns Israeli Assassination of Yemeni PM, Ministers
TEHRAN (Tasnim) 28 August 2001 Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian denounced an Israeli air attack that killed Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi and a number of other ministers in Sana.
Pezeshzhein, communicated this on Sunday in reaction to the terrorist action that the Israeli regime carried out against Yemen, which killed the prime minister and several of the senior officials clearing up once again the wicked and criminal character of the ruling gang occupying Palestine.
The Iranian president called to the international community to act immediately to stop the lawlessness and violation by the Zionist regime which he described as the biggest threat to peace, law, ethics, and humanity.
In a statement on Saturday, the Houthis said that Al-Rahawi, a former prime minister in parts of Yemen that are under the control of the group, was the target of the attack in addition to other members of the Houthi-led government at a workshop.
Mahdi al-Mashat, a Yemeni politician and military officer and the chairman of the Supreme Political Council of the Houthis, said in a video message that we shall take vengeance, and we shall make out of the depths of wounds, a victory.
The Israeli regime has been especially active in recent months targeting Houthi positions as the Yemeni group has attacked the occupied territories as well as Western vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden as an act of support to Palestinians in Gaza.
