Official Statement from IRGC Intelligence Organization
The director of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization indicated that there were at least 10 foreign intelligence agencies that were directly linked to the recent riots in Iran.
In an interview with the Khamenei.ir web site, Brigadier General Majid Khademi highlighted that the recent violent and terrorist riots in Iran were planned in a 7 stage plot by the enemies as well as state that the overall objective of the riots was to overthrow the Islamic establishment.
Allegations of Foreign Involvement in the Recent riots in Iran
Khademi, the general, opined that the enemies, the US and Israel wanted to provoke protests and turn it into strikes as a weapon that could not be felt and make the political system in Iran be pressured, at all stages and in many instances they attempted to initiate such a situation.
He also stated that enemies also trained their agents to strike security centers and bases with the intention of destabilizing the national security organs of the nation as was the case with the 12 day war of aggression waged by Israel and the US on Iran in June last year.
False deaths were also used by the enemies to appeal to emotions and feelings of the population, and to legitimize the foreign military action, as General Khademi mentioned.
Claims of Cyber Attacks and Sabotage
Additionally, the opponents attempted to make the system to appear weak and ineffective at solving the economic, social, and security issues the country is facing, and incited anti-government groups to erroneously believe that regime change is possible, the Intelligence chief of IRGC stated.
General Khademi subsequently reported that cyber attacks and acts of sabotage were made against the targeted Iranian service infrastructure by its enemies, and accused the government of ineffectiveness in an attempt to destroy the lifespan of the average people and cultivate discontent among the population of the country.
The general also said that the enemies attempted to connect protest cores to terrorist components, and they had terroristic groups entrenched deep within Iran and on the borders at that.
They also attempted to seek foreign backup, which possibly would result in special operations and military attacks by the United States, General Khamedi said.
Financial and Operational Aspects of the Alleged Plot
The head of the IRGC intelligence revealed that field data of the terrorist riots that have occurred in Iran in recent times indicate that enemies spent an exceptional amount of money on the operation using cryptocurrencies; they invested a lot of time establishing and coordinating field forces, including terrorist cells, political units on social media, individuals convicted of violent offenses and local thugs.
General Khademi also observed that the quasi-coup could not come to fruition because the enemies were hurried to utilize the demonstrations that were witnessed as a result of the lack of the dollar and in a manner that some of the networks of the enemy could not be brought operationally fit.
Reasons Cited for the Failure of the Alleged Plan
He further contributed that historical loathing of the key opposition leaders by the Iranian nation, abhorrence of American and Israeli authorities, and fury against overt interventionist standpoints are also what led the enemies to fail in the anti-Iran plan.

The leader of the IRGC intelligence emphasized that the Iranian security agencies were effective in differentiating between the protesters who acted in a peaceful way and those who rioted violently, and reacted in a firm way to sabotage.
General Khademi complimented the gung-ho fight of the Iranian military and the diplomats against the US military build up and threats persistently.
